Introducing Body Mechanic’s Athletic & Active Programs:

Strength and Conditioning:

For athletes, active kids/teens/adults, and anyone looking to improve their overall fitness and strength through a personalized strengthening and flexibility exercise program. Your personalized program will be determined by our Head Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Doctor of Physical Therapy after completing your preliminary movement assessment and personal goals evaluation. The program unique to you may consist of things such as weight training, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, and injury prevention. Sessions can be purchased individually or as a group package for substantial savings.

Speed:

For athletes, active kids/teens/adults, and anyone looking to improve their overall speed versus the competition. Speed is essential whether coming off the starting blocks in track or swimming, or needing that extra push in the last seconds of a game. Through a movement and mechanics assessment our Head Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Doctor of Physical Therapy will identify the causes of lag in your speed or areas where more development for speed may be needed. Sessions can be purchased individually or as a group package for substantial savings.

Agility:

For athletes, active kids/teens/adults, and anyone looking to improve their overall ability to move quickly and easily in response to an opponent or in everyday life. Agility as an athlete is instrumental in being able to change one’s body position efficiently and effectively when in competition. In everyday life, agility is the bodies ability to move positions using a combination of balance, dexterity, coordination, and reflexes when faced with adversity. Both realms of agility allow the body to be reactive and proactive to adverse or outside stimuli, and the ability to do so without causing injury or harm to oneself. During a movement, mechanics, and balance assessment our Head Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Doctor of Physical Therapy, will determine the missing or lagging agility components and provide a program that will enhance and promote proper movements and awareness of the body for improved agility. Power:

For athletes, active kids/teens/adults, and anyone looking to improve their overall power in strength training and movement. Power is the combination of speed and strength training, meaning how quickly can you move a certain amount of weight, measured in reps per time or speed per time. Power training is to enhance muscle fiber recruitment in shorter amounts of time. This is needed in athletes that require explosive quick movements, whether that be hitting, swinging, sprinting, pushing, pulling, or explosive first steps. Your need and breakdown of power will be assessed by our Head Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Doctor of Physical Therapy to determine the most safe and effective way to enhance your power during practice and game settings. Sessions can be purchased individually or as a group package for substantial savings.

Injury Prevention/Reduction:

For athletes, active kids/teens/adults, and anyone looking to improve their tissue resiliency and decrease the likelihood of injury. After a thorough movement and mechanics assessment with our Head Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Doctor of Physical Therapy, we will determine the areas that may be more likely to sustain injury based on strength, flexibility, and movement. This prevention strategy is beneficial for all, but most important for athletes in both contact and non-contact sports. Through an injury reduction program, athletes will learn tactical skills such as proper falling, motions and movements to look out for, ways to strength and move joints and tissues to reduce non-contact injuries, and many other proven injury reduction techniques. Sessions can be purchased individually or as a group package for substantial savings.

Recovery:

For athletes, active kids/teens/adults, and anyone looking to improve their rate of recovery following difficult training or game sessions, as well as improving recovery following injury or surgery. Our Doctor of Physical Therapy will evaluate if your symptoms are resultant from an injury or overtraining, and then develop a treatment plan that you can follow at home or on the road. Recovery is essential to tissue healing, and can often lead to further pain or injury down the road if not done properly in a timely fashion. Performance is also affected by improper recovery following competition, and can be reliant on many factors. Sessions can be purchased individually or as a group package for substantial savings.
